MaineMaine has a lot of renewable energy potential, particularly in wind energy, hydropower, and biomass. And the state is already taking advantage of that potential: over half of Maine’s electricity comes from renewables, and it boasts the lowest electricity prices in the northeastern U.S.1

Maine is home to the first grid-connected offshore wind turbine in the country – which is also the first floating wind turbine in the country.2

Maine’s biomass industry accounts for over 20% of the state’s electricity, which is by far the largest share from biomass in the country.5
